The current emphasis of activity is the development of the VCSU MEP for online instruction in programming and programming languages. He is a member of the World Wide Web Instructional Committee. There are several pertinant links:

- Presented a paper entitled Development Systems: A Review
by Curt Hill at MICS 2012. The presentation is here. The conference was held April 13-14, 2012 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
- Made two presentations at Turtle Mountain Community College Technology Day. These included a presentation on the VCSU MEP and another on IT careers.
- Served as a judge for tenth annual composer's concert.
- Served as a judge for the Student Scholars program.
- Presented a paper entitled Teaching in China, Teaching Chinese Students in the U. S.

- Received two $500 mini-grants. Both on the topic of exploring the possibility of converting the VCSU-MEP to the OpenSim platform.
- Taught the freshman orientation workshop, due to the large number of VCSU freshman.
- Had a paper entitled Keep Nose Above Water published and presented at ED-MEDIA 2010. This conference was held June 29 - July 2, 2010 in Toronto, Canada.
- Presented a paper entitled Instructor Tools: Test Data Generation by Curt Hill at MICS 2010. The presentation is here. This conference occurred April 16-17 at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
- Presented a paper entitled Visualization Enhanced Hypertextbook for Computer Science Education by Curt Hill and Brian Slator at

- Presented a day on Alice at the Turtle Mountain Community College Bridge program. This helps high school students to prepare for entering college and to take Computer Science classes.
- Served on a National Science Foundation panel to review proposals for the Broadening Participation in Computing solicitation.
- Presented a paper entitled Show a Little Style by Curt Hill and Martin Kelly at Alice Symposium. The preliminary presentation is here.
- Presented a paper entitled Captured Presentations for Online Learning by Curt Hill and Brian M. Slator at MICS 2009. The presentation is here. This conference occurred April 17-18, 2009 at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
- Had a paper entitled Towards Musical Analysis Tools by Curt Hill and Sara Hagen accepted for presentation at MICS 2008. A classic spring snow prevented Curt from making this presentation, but the paper is in the proceedings. This conference occurred April 11-12 at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.

- Reviewed several panel proposals for SIGCSE conference.
- Presented a paper entitled Looking Back - Looking Forward by Curt Hill at MICS 2007. The powerpoint presentation is here. - Reviewed two papers for West Virginia EPSCOR Research Challenge Grant program.
- Was named as a consultant for a Department of Education grant: Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program. (MSEIP). Turtle Mountain Community College has received funding for to develop a Computer Science curriculum. Curt will mentor faculty and help to develop curriculum.
- Was a coauthor of a paper and a poster session accepted by ED-MEDIA 2007. The paper was entitled A Cognitive Model for Learning Java by Vijayakumar Shanmugasundaram, Paul Juell, Curt Hill and Kendal Nygard. The poster was entitled Effectiveness of BlueJ in Learning Java by Vijayakumar Shanmugasundaram, Paul Juell, Curt Hill and Kendal Nygard. This conference was held on June 25-29, 2007 in Vancouver, Canada.
- Served as a reviewer for ITiCSE 2007, by reviewing two papers.

- Presented a paper at Midwest Instructional and Computing Symposium 2003 entitled Parsers and Learning Programming in ProgrammingLand by Curt Hill, April 11-12, 2003 in Duluth, MN. The Powerpoint presentation.
- Served on the committee to evaluate new VCSU laptops. As part of this developed a suite of programs for evaluating the laptop, which are on the downloads page.
