Database Management Systems

This is the foyer of the Database Management Systems course. This is an introductory course that describes the basics of a DBMS.

Databases are one of the premier technologies of our times. There are generally only two courses in a Computer Science curriculum that deal only with specific systems of programs. These are the Operating System course and the Database course. A MIS/CIS/IT curriculum might also have courses on ERP and CRM, both of which have at their heart a DBMS. Clearly this is an important topic.

There are several main modules that need to be considered. Each of these is an exit below.

Introductory Material
The Relational Model
Structured Query Language (SQL)
Machine Support for DBMS
Intermediate Database Topics
Schema Design and Normalization
Advanced Database Topics
Curt's Online Office
